Tobago’s Auntie Berry Celebrates a Century of Life

The Ministry of the People, Social Development and Family Services celebrated the 100th birthday of Ms. Emlyn Caton, also known as ‘Auntie Berry’, at a special service in Woodbrook. Born in Castara, Tobago in 1925, Ms. Caton spent her early years in Luhally, attending the Moulton Hall Methodist Primary School. Known for her values of respect, family, and faith, Ms. Caton attributes her long life to ‘God’s grace and favour’. Although she had no children with her late husband, her influence extends throughout her community. The Ministry was represented by Mrs. Kathleen Sarkar, Director of the Division of Ageing, who presented tokens of appreciation to Ms. Caton for her remarkable contribution to society. The Ministry extends best wishes to Ms. Caton and hopes her wisdom and spirit will continue to inspire future generations.
