Labourer Drowns in Mayaro Beach Tragedy

The tragic story of labourer Rabindranath “Robin” Sawh unfolded this weekend at Mayaro. Sawh, 33, went missing after a beach trip with relatives on Saturday around 3:20 p.m. at Grand Lagoon. He was unfortunately pulled under the waves while bathing and despite desperate searches, he remained untraceable. On Sunday afternoon, his body was discovered floating near Bel Air Road. The discovery was made by Sawh’s relatives who noticed a group of pelicans circling the area. Mayaro police officers, Coast Guard lifeguards, and the Hunters Search and Rescue Team led by Vallence Rambharat were involved in the search and recovery efforts.
