Port of Spain, Trinidad – Love stole the spotlight at Fitt Street Bar when, for the very first time, the popular Ariapita Avenue hotspot became the stage for a marriage proposal.
In the middle of the lively atmosphere, with glasses clinking and music in the background, the crowd began chanting “Ask her! Ask her!” as a young man turned to his partner, Melissa Dana Francis, and dropped to one knee.
Though he seemed a little tipsy — as one might expect at a bar — his words came straight from the heart.
“Melissa, I will cherish you. I will protect you. I love you with all my heart. Baby girl, I will never leave your side for as long as I live. As long as the Lord gives me breath in my lungs, I’ll stand beside you. Today, I place this ring on your finger as my promise forever.”
The crowd erupted with cheers and applause as he slipped the ring onto Melissa’s finger, turning the moment into a celebration of both love and life.
Fitt Street Bar, already known for its vibrant nightlife, can now boast a new milestone — its first wedding proposal. A little rum, a lot of courage, and a heart full of love made it a night no one will forget.
