Yung Bredda has broken his silence after facing backlash from Grenadian fans who noticed their national flag was absent from his latest music video.
In a statement posted online, the artist said:
> “So I’m gonna say this once, and I’m not gonna address it again. I’m seeing a lot of Grenadians in my DMs cursing me out and calling me names. But I can’t blame you all, because you don’t know the full story.”
He explained that the remix of the track, Benova, is now under the control of an international record label, and he had no say in the creative direction of the video:
> “The song is not in my hands anymore. The music video was set up by the label. They went around and bought a bunch of Caribbean flags to make that big flag. I just had to be there and shoot the video. I had no responsibility in dealing with the flags.”
Yung Bredda emphasized that the omission of the Grenadian and Bahamian flags was not intentional, adding that the criticism was especially painful given his own family roots:
> “My grandmother is a Grenadian, and it hurt me to see how people reacted before asking questions. Being famous is not always a happy thing — people criticize without knowing you’re innocent.”
The artist closed by stressing that the decision was out of his hands and urging fans to understand that the production was handled entirely by the label.
