Fatal Santa Cruz robbery attempt results in deaths of two suspects

In a tragic turn of events early Friday morning, a robbery attempt in Santa Cruz ended fatally for two suspects. A woman, who was driving the getaway vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene after the confrontation. Her male accomplice, who sustained injuries during the attempted robbery, was transported to a hospital but succumbed to his wounds shortly after arrival. This incident unfolded around 5 a.m. along La Pastora Road, close to Bienvenue Avenue. The intended victim, a licensed firearm holder, was targeted during the robbery and returned fire, leading to the deaths of both suspects. Authorities from the North Eastern Division secured the area and collected evidence to assist in their investigation. As of now, the identities of the deceased have not been disclosed.
