Mr. Surujdeo Mangaroo HBM (Gold) has been appointed as the new President of the National Council of Indian Culture (NCIC), effective August 10, 2025. He takes over from Sen. Deoroop Teemal and intends to build upon the foundation laid by his predecessor. Mangaroo emphasizes the importance of youth development, cultural awareness, and empowering the younger generation to embrace their heritage. With nearly 30 years of service to the NCIC, he brings extensive experience, having served as the Charter President of the Rotary Club of Penal, Chairman of Cultural Affairs for the Hindi Foundation of Trinidad and Tobago Inc., Vice President of the Global Indian Organization (GIO) Caribbean Region, and former Chairman of the National Commission for Self Help Ltd from 2010 to 2015. Under his leadership, the NCIC aims to foster unity, education, and cultural pride among the community.
