A couple selling roti from their home in St Helena Village, Piarco, was robbed of $60,000 on Wednesday afternoon. Around 1 p.m., three men, one armed, entered their home. The female vendor was locked in a washroom while her partner was taken upstairs, where the men ransacked the apartment. The male victim was assaulted and threatened at gunpoint, leading him to surrender a bag containing the cash. Along with the money, the suspects stole two cellphones and the DVR unit for their security system before fleeing. Police are investigating the case.
