Jasher François, a six-year-old boy, tragically passed away at a hospital after being admitted for a persistent cough, prompting his parents to seek an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his care. The parents reported that Jasher was admitted to San Fernando Teaching Hospital with an oxygen level of 90, which was subsequently increased to 100%. They noted that he was coherent and appeared healthy during his stay.
His mother remained with him overnight, feeding him and receiving reassurances from doctors that he was not in critical condition, attributing his symptoms to the flu season. However, complications arose when a nurse administered magnesium sulfate intravenously. Following this, Jasher experienced distress and vomiting, which led to a decline in his condition. Despite attempts by medical staff to resuscitate him, he was pronounced deceased. His parents have called for a thorough investigation to uncover what went wrong, emphasizing that their son was a normal, healthy child before this incident.
