In a shocking incident of daylight violence, a 16-year-old boy narrowly escaped death from a shooting in Arouca on Tuesday afternoon. The victim reported to police that at approximately 1:00 p.m. on August 5th, 2025, he was walking along 6th Street in Five Rivers when a man he recognized as ‘Snowman’ emerged from a blue van. The two had reportedly had an altercation earlier that day. According to the teen, Snowman pointed what appeared to be a firearm at him, leading to a series of gunshots. Fearing for his life, the boy ran and concealed himself in nearby bushes until the shooter departed. After the danger passed, he made his way to the Arouca Police Station to report the incident. Police from the Arouca CID and NCTF-E responded quickly, visiting the crime scene and interviewing witnesses. Investigators recovered four spent 9mm shells and four projectiles believed to be linked to the shooting. So far, efforts to locate the suspect, known only as ‘Snowman,’ have been unsuccessful, and the investigation continues as authorities seek to apprehend the shooter and ensure community safety.
