In a bold and emotional statement, soca artiste J Angel has broken her silence to address fellow entertainer Jadel, after a recent video by Jadel reignited long-standing confusion between the two women — a situation J Angel believes has gone too far.
In Jadel’s video, she appeared to clarify that she was not the performer known for “wearing a catsuit” or “falling off tables” — references widely seen as pointing to J Angel. Although no names were called, fans quickly made the connection. J Angel has since confirmed those suspicions, stating:
“You didn’t call my name, but everybody knows you were talking about me.”
“Never Be Me”: J Angel Defends Her Brand
J Angel stood firmly in defense of her identity and artistic brand, making it clear she refuses to be mistaken or imitated.
“You are Jadel. You are not J Angel. There is only one J Angel. Never two,” she said.
She also called out what she viewed as indirect jabs in Jadel’s video:
“You said you don’t wear a catsuit and never fell off a table — but that was shade. I saw it, and everyone else did too.”
Support Turned Sour
Perhaps the most surprising part of J Angel’s response was her claim that she had previously helped Jadel behind the scenes — even recommending her for bookings and pushing her music when others wouldn’t. But despite that support, J Angel says she was later told that Jadel requested not to be featured on the same flyer with her.
“You didn’t even know I vouched for you. Then you turned around and said you didn’t want to be on the same flyer with me. That’s ungrateful.”
J Angel added that she had tried multiple times to resolve things privately, reaching out through Jadel’s management and even her personal consultant.
“You have a deeper issue with me. I don’t study you. I don’t think about you. I’ve tried to call and talk, but now you want to shine on the media? So here it is.”
A Call for Honesty and Accountability
Throughout the nearly 20-minute audio, J Angel urged Jadel to be honest with the public about the root of their issues, and firmly denied any accusations or rumors about how she built her career.
“I never slept with a manager to do music. I put in work. I handle my own business. I am a boss.”
She also reminded the public of her reputation and influence within the industry:
“I book artists. I help run events. I’ve pushed a lot of people in this industry. I’ve helped build careers — including yours.”
A Final Warning
Toward the end of her statement, J Angel issued a clear message: she’s not interested in ongoing drama, but won’t stay silent either.
“This is the first and last time I’m talking about this. Don’t wake the beast from the East unless you want war.”
