In a tragic incident, 21-year-old Shevon Nelson was found dead at his home in Irois Forest, Chatham, in what authorities are considering a suspected suicide. On Thursday, July 31st, 2025, at approximately 1:08 p.m., officers from the Point Fortin Police Station responded to a call regarding the incident. Upon their arrival, they spoke with a male relative who reported discovering Nelson hanging by the neck in the living room, with a ladder and a piece of rope positioned beneath him. Nelson was reportedly last seen alive around 11:00 a.m. by another family member. The District Medical Officer was called to the scene and subsequently ordered the body to be transported to the San Fernando General Hospital mortuary, where it will await a post-mortem examination. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding his death are currently ongoing.
