A violent incident unfolded in Carenage when a 40-year-old man was brutally attacked by a former employee, identified only as “Marcus,” over unpaid wages. The confrontation occurred around 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30th, 2025, at the victim’s auto garage on Beard Street Extension. Marcus reportedly arrived in a black Toyota Prius, demanding payment for two days of work. However, during the altercation, he unexpectedly told the victim to “keep the money” before launching a vicious attack with a cutlass. The victim sustained severe injuries, including a deep 10cm cut that exposed bone and muscle in his right hand. Following the attack, Marcus fled the scene in his vehicle. The injured man was promptly taken to the St. James Medical Facility for stabilization before being transferred to the Port of Spain General Hospital, where medical staff confirmed the seriousness of his injuries. Police investigations are ongoing under the supervision of PC Espinoza, as they work to locate Marcus and gather more details about the incident.
