A daring robbery unfolded at a Subway restaurant in Barataria early Tuesday morning, July 29, 2025, when a gunman entered the fast-food outlet shortly after 6:30 a.m. Armed with a firearm, he ordered three female employees to comply with his demands. Two of the workers were instructed to sit on the ground while the supervisor was forced to hand over the restaurant’s cash. Fearing for their safety, the supervisor surrendered $2,010, which included money taken from the cash register and the vault. After the robbery, the suspect calmly exited the premises and was last seen walking west along Eastern Main Road. Police arrived quickly at the scene, recording the incident and interviewing the employees. Investigators also reviewed surveillance footage and spoke with witnesses in the area as part of their ongoing investigation.
