A 22-year-old man from Valencia, Omali Rennie, has been charged with the murder of 19-year-old Maria Paul, following a lengthy investigation into her disappearance last September. Rennie, who appeared in the High Court on July 25, 2025, previously denied involvement in the case. Maria was last seen on September 12, 2024, prompting extensive search efforts by friends and family, but hopes faded as her absence stretched on. Her remains were discovered on October 1, 2024, buried in a shallow grave linked to a relative of a suspect. The case took a significant turn when police arrested Rennie on July 24, 2025, following diligent investigative work. Maria’s remains were identified through DNA analysis, providing grim confirmation of her family’s worst fears. The investigation remains active as authorities continue to pursue the case.
