Stolen Laptops and Projector from San Juan School Estimated at $57,500

In a significant theft incident, 19 Lenovo laptops and a $10,000 projector were reported stolen from the San Juan South Secondary School’s Information Technology room. The total estimated value of the stolen items is around $57,500. The theft was discovered on Monday morning after the school’s alarm system was triggered over the weekend. According to police reports, the school’s security alarm had been properly armed, and the I.T. room was locked by a teacher a few days prior to the incident.

On Friday, the principal received a notification from the alarm service indicating that the system had been activated, but there were no signs of an attempted break-in at that time. However, upon returning to the school, the IT teacher found that the eastern door of the I.T. room had been opened, leading to the shocking discovery of the missing equipment.

The police investigation revealed that the lock on the eastern door had been pried open to gain access. After processing the scene, officers were unable to recover any evidence of value. Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the school and surrounding areas to identify potential suspects and gather more information about the incident.
