The High Court has dismissed the case against Inspector Mark Hernandez, the former head of the Special Operations Response Team (SORT). Hernandez faced charges of misbehaviour in public office linked to his treatment of Andrew Morris and Joel Balcon, two suspects involved in the 2021 kidnapping and murder of Andrea Bharatt. The suspects died while in police custody. Following the court’s decision, Hernandez’s attorney, Gerald Ramdeen, addressed the media at a press conference held at the Hyatt Regency, discussing the implications of the ruling.
