Fiery Daylight Shootout in Jamaica: Five Gunmen Killed, Four Firearms Seized

A bold daylight attack was thwarted by police in the upscale Jacks Hill area of St Andrew, Jamaica on Monday, resulting in a fatal shootout. Five men were killed and four firearms were confiscated in the incident, including an M16 rifle and a shotgun. The confrontation occurred when officers from the Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigations Branch, acting on intelligence, tried to disrupt a planned murder. The police officers, who returned fire after coming under attack, were unharmed. Five men, whose identities are yet to be released, suffered gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the hospital. A sixth suspect is still at large. Police have issued an appeal for Courtney Ashley, known as ‘Bloodstain’, to report to the branch immediately. This incident raises the number of individuals fatally shot by police in Jamaica to 183 in 2025, intensifying national discussions on crime, justice, and the use of lethal force.
