Nationwide Manhunt for Escaped Inmate from Rehabilitation Centre

Law enforcement agencies across the nation have initiated a manhunt for an inmate, Abraham Briggs, who escaped from the Youth Transformation and Rehabilitation Centre in Arouca on Tuesday evening. The 31-year-old escapee was serving a five-year sentence for aggravated robbery at the Golden Grove Prison. Briggs, last seen in a blue prison uniform, reportedly escaped custody around 5:30 p.m. Originating from Sangre Grande, Briggs has been labelled as potentially dangerous and citizens are cautioned not to approach him but to report any sightings to the police. An internal investigation is currently underway to understand the circumstances of the escape.
