Two student pilots tragically lost their lives on Tuesday morning when their single-engine planes collided midair near Steinbach, Manitoba. The incident occurred as the pilots, practicing takeoffs and landings in small Cessna aircraft, attempted to land simultaneously, resulting in a crash just a few hundred yards from the runway. Adam Penner, president of Harv’s Air pilot training school, noted that while the planes were equipped with radios, it seems the pilots did not see one another. Authorities have not disclosed many details but confirmed that both pilots were pronounced dead at the scene, with no passengers on board.
