A tragic incident unfolded in Ste Madeleine when a 23-year-old was shot and killed during a dispute with a childhood friend. The confrontation took place on Thursday afternoon at Perseverance Street, not far from the victim’s home. Witnesses reported that the two engaged in a heated argument that escalated into a physical struggle. During the fight, the assailant’s firearm fell but was quickly retrieved, leading to the suspect shooting the victim multiple times before fleeing the scene. The victim was found collapsed nearby and was rushed to the San Fernando General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. This incident marred what was meant to be a celebratory day for the victim’s family, as they were celebrating his mother’s birthday and his stepson’s graduation. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
