9-Year-Old’s Death After 18 Months of Ignored Bullying Exposes School Safety Gaps in Jaipur

A CBSE inquiry has revealed that a nine-year-old girl who died after falling from a Jaipur school building in November 2025 had been bullied for 18 months, with her parents’ complaints repeatedly dismissed. The incident has reignited national debate on school safety. The inquiry found that the school, a well-reputed institution, told the parents their daughter needed to ‘adjust’ with classmates. On the day she died, she approached her class teacher five times in 45 minutes seeking help, but no action was taken. Safety nets were missing from upper floors, and student access was not controlled. The case underscores the gap between safety guidelines and actual practice in Indian schools.
