A recent survey conducted by the Center for Political Research and Studies at the University of Costa Rica indicates that 84 percent of Costa Ricans believe current President Rodrigo Chaves exerts significant influence over the government’s decision-making process during the administration’s first 100 days.
Despite the public perception reflected in the data, President Laura Fernandez has denied that such influence exists. The findings highlight a notable gap between public opinion and the official stance of the administration regarding the internal dynamics of the current government.
