A 29‑year‑old resident of Plovdiv was arrested by officers from the Shesto District Police after a search of his home on Tsarigradsko Shosse yielded more than 800 grams of illicit drugs. During a routine check the officers found the suspect fleeing the scene. When he was later detained he resisted arrest. A personal search of his person uncovered seven vacuum‑sealed packets of a green, weed‑like substance. The police also searched his apartment, where they seized additional suspicious packages, an electronic scale and two grinders. An expert analysis of the confiscated material determined that the drugs consisted of approximately 650 grams of marijuana, 120 grams of amphetamine and 40 grams of methamphetamine. The substances were believed to have been intended for sale to customers contacted through the Telegram messaging platform, a method commonly used by drug dealers to receive orders via bots and then provide pickup locations. The case has been referred to the Plovdiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, which is continuing to document the criminal activity. The investigation remains ongoing.
