Six Optimist boats have been hand-built by youth from Carriacou under the guidance of master shipwright Bernard McLawrence. The boats were constructed from scratch as part of the Division of Youth’s Camp Flame programme. According to reports, the programme provided an opportunity for the young participants to develop their skills in boat-building. The achievement is a testament to the capabilities of the Carriacou youth and the expertise of their instructor, Bernard McLawrence.
