بولندا تعتقل 6 أشخاص بشبهة التجسس لحساب الاستخبارات الروسية

Polish authorities announced on Thursday that six individuals have been arrested on suspicion of acting on behalf of Russian intelligence services. The arrests were made by the Polish Internal Security Agency (Agencja Bezpieczeństwa Wewnętrznego). According to the agency, the detainees include five Polish nationals aged 25 to 52 and a 37‑year‑old Russian woman. Four of the suspects have been formally charged with espionage and are being held in pre‑trial detention for a period of three months. The agency says the group allegedly supplied Russia with large quantities of military‑grade components that were used in the manufacture of munitions and weapons systems. It also claims that the suspects violated regulations governing the international trade of goods and technologies of strategic importance to national defence and international security. Minister of State for Special Services Thomas Simonik, who oversees the agency, noted that the charges are part of a broader investigation that has seen about 100 people charged with espionage and sabotage since the beginning of 2024. Poland, a member of NATO and the European Union, sits on the eastern flank of the alliance and its territory is a key route for Western military and humanitarian aid to Ukraine. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that his country had thwarted a provocative act near the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad. In a separate but related security alert, European airlines reported a wave of false bomb threats that prompted emergency landings and the deployment of fighter jets. Flights from Copenhagen, Madrid, London, and other European cities were diverted or forced to land at alternate airports after receiving threats of a bomb on board. Authorities investigated each incident and found no evidence of explosives. The incidents, which affected at least 25 flights, were described by aviation security officials as part of a broader pattern of low‑cost disruption tactics.
