On September 19, 2026, the 155th Hokushinetsu Region High School Baseball Fukui Prefecture Tournament was held at two venues across Fukui Prefecture. The second match of the second round took place at the Tsuruga City Comprehensive Sports Park Baseball Field.
Fukui Institute of Technology Fukui defeated Musubetsu East 8‑0, securing a place in the quarterfinals. The team scored five timely hits, totaling eight runs. In the second inning, Matsuoka delivered a timely hit to give Fukui a 1‑0 lead. The third inning saw Yoda hit a timely two‑base hit, adding two more runs for a 3‑0 score. Two timely hits in the fourth inning pushed the tally to 5‑0, and a single timely hit in the fifth inning extended the lead to 7‑0. Musubetsu East failed to score in any inning.
Fukui’s pitching staff, consisting of two relievers, maintained a scoreless performance against Musubetsu East’s lineup, preventing any runs through the seventh inning.
The tournament, organized by the Hokushinetsu Region High School Baseball Federation, features 27 teams from the region. The victory places Fukui Institute of Technology Fukui into the quarterfinals of the 2026 Fukui Prefecture tournament.
