В Узбекистане запустят международный конкурс стартапов с призовым фондом $5 млн

Uzbekistan will launch an international competition called “Land of Startups” in April 2027, offering a prize fund of US $5 million. The competition, announced in a Cabinet of Ministers decree (No. 593) dated 28 October 2026, aims to attract foreign startups and their founders to the country and to develop technology transfer, positioning Uzbekistan as a regional startup hub. The decree, published in the National Legislation Database and effective from 30 October 2026, outlines that winners will receive venture financing to grow their projects and expand into overseas markets. The competition will feature five thematic tracks: 1. Artificial Intelligence – AI‑based solutions for various industries. 2. Digital Solutions for the Social Sphere – projects for education, health care and other public services. 3. Financial Technology – e‑commerce, business and financial sector solutions. 4. Creative Industry and Games – software products, computer and mobile games. 5. B2B and Industry – high‑technology developments for enterprises, including research‑based innovations. An organizing committee will establish selection criteria and evaluation procedures, publishing them on a dedicated competition portal. The committee will also ensure a transparent selection process and host the award ceremony. In addition, it will assist winners in implementing their technologies in social and industrial sectors. The amount of venture funding will be determined based on key performance indicators and will be formalised in contracts and agreements with the winners. Earlier in 2026, Uzbekistan expanded financial support for young entrepreneurs, introducing new rules that provide loans, credits and partial reimbursement of project implementation costs.
