The epicenter lies at latitude 11.05 N and longitude 62.42 W, 113 km below the surface. The depth and precise coordinates place the quake well within the Caribbean Plate, where tectonic activity is common.

The SRC notes that the preliminary location is based on automated calculations and may be subject to revision after a detailed analyst review. Residents in the affected area are advised to stay alert for aftershocks.

Seismic monitoring continues, and the SRC will update the public once a confirmed analysis is completed. The event underscores the ongoing need for robust earthquake preparedness in the region.
