220 Police Officers Promoted as Government Addresses Career Stagnation

Government has confirmed the promotion of 220 police officers into various ranks as part of efforts to address long-standing stagnation within the police service.

The promotions include senior leadership roles as well as mid-level ranks, with over 1,200 officers currently deployed across the service.

Officials acknowledged that progression had been slow over the past five years due to economic constraints limiting the creation of new positions.

More than 900 officers reportedly remained in the same rank for over a decade, prompting renewed focus on improving morale, career growth, and productivity within the force.
