In Tehran, Iranian state media reported that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) shot down a U.S. MQ‑1 drone over the waters of Qeshm Island in the southern part of the country. The incident was announced on Thursday, with officials emphasizing that U.S. aircraft movements continue to be monitored. The IRGC also reiterated a claim made earlier this month that it had destroyed 56 U.S. MQ‑9 drones since February 28. In addition, the organization said it had downed several other types of U.S. aircraft, including Hermes and MQ‑170 unmanned aerial vehicles, among other models.
